Web & Digital Content Accessibility Compliance Timeline
Prior to the 2026–2027 academic year, much of UNCG’s web accessibility efforts focused largely on training, implementing a web accessibility scanning tool, and helping site admins identify and address accessibility issues on their sites. This work has laid the foundation for the next phase of web and digital content accessibility efforts.
With that foundation in place, the focus for 2026–2027 will shift to preparing web and digital content for compliance with the new ADA Title II requirements. The extension of the compliance deadline from April 2026 to April 2027 provides additional implementation time to identify and address accessibility barriers across University websites and other digital content. Third-party digital content will be a major focus for Spring 2027, with emphasis on identifying and implementing appropriate approaches to address inaccessible externally created content shared on UNCG webpages.
The Web & Digital Content Accessibility Compliance Timeline highlights key milestones completed throughout this initiative, and outlines the work ahead.
