What’s New: Yuja Panorama is Coming to Canvas Oct 14th
YuJa Panorama is designed to help instructors improve accessibility in their Canvas courses by:
- Identifying accessibility issues in course content
- Providing guidance on how to fix the identified issues
- Offering a more robust accessibility review than UDOIT
- Enabling instructors to fix many accessibility issues directly within Canvas using built-in remediation tools
- Instructors and students will notice some immediate visual changes within Canvas when Panorama is enabled. Most notable will be the accessibility indicators that appear throughout the course.
Transition from UDOIT
UDOIT will remain available through the Spring 2027 semester to support a smooth transition to Panorama. During the transition period, instructors may choose to use either UDOIT or Panorama. To avoid duplicate reports, conflicting results, and potential errors, instructors should use only one accessibility tool per course at a time.
Alternate Formats for Students
Panorama also provides students with access to a variety of alternate formats that can improve access to course materials. These formats may include options such as audio, electronic braille, enhanced readability formats, and translated versions of content. Instructors will have the option to disable these alternate formats.
Important Information for Foreign Language Courses
One of Panorama’s available alternate formats is a translated version of course content. Depending on instructional goals, translated versions will not be appropriate for some language courses. If translated content is not appropriate for a course’s learning objectives, instructors are encouraged to disable this alternate format. These sessions provide an introduction to Panorama and demonstrate its core features and workflows. Additional training resources and support will be available throughout the transition. Additional role-specific and topic-focused training will be offered during the spring semester.
