Academic Accommodations

Primary Focus: reviewing, approving, and coordinating requests for academic accommodations; assisting students with personal concerns

Key Resources for Students with Disabilities

  • Register with OARS – process to register a disability with the Office of Accessibility Resources & Services (OARS); first step to receive academic accommodations
  • Requesting Academic Accommodations – includes information about faculty notification, course registration, degree modifications, and other accommodations

Emergency & Safety Information

Primary Focus: preparing for and responding to UNCG-related emergencies; coordinating measures to promote and increase campus safety

Key Resources for Students with Disabilities

  • Emergency Preparedness – information related to various emergencies including information related to what you can do if you cannot exit a building
  • Safety Information – Includes Live Safe App and other services offered by the UNCG Police Department (UNCG PD)
  • Walksafe – a UNCG PD program that allows students to request a PD officer to either walk or monitor their progress (also ties in with Live Safe app); good information for any student with security or safety concerns
